2010 ND Steel Challenge Sunday June 27th
The Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships were founded in 1981 in California with just 70 shooters competing for cash and prizes that first year. Now hundreds come annually to California to compete in the Steel Challenge. Men, women, and kids soon find that "tinging" the steel plates gets very addicting. With so many different divisions to compete in, it is easy to compete with whatever firearm you have in your gun safe. MRPC holds it's own Steel Challenge in mid-summer each year. Without the expense of long distance traveling. Shooters from all around the area look forward to "ting" the steel each year. Steel Challenge scoring is simple - your time is your score. There are five targets, commonly referred to as plates. Four are primary plates, and the fifth is designated as the stop plate. Each of the primary targets must be hit at least once during each string of fire, followed by the stop plate, which must be hit last to stop the time. Competitors may fire as many rounds as they deem necessary for each string of fire. The best four out of five strings will be counted as the total score for each stage, except for Outer Limits, which will be the best three out of four runs. Total score for all stages will determine the order of finish for final standings. The Steel Challenge is comprised of 8 courses of fire called "stages." They are: Accelerator Pendulum Smoke & Hope Roundabout Showdown Outer Limits
