            Presented by Project Safe Neighborhoods

                                        and the

                           Minot Rifle & Pistol Club

The Minot Police Department Crime Prevention Unit received a federal grant and will begin activities and events promoting "Project Safe Neighborhoods."  Through grant funding, the Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force will be sponsoring one day firearm safety training.

The next class is scheduled for:   TBA (due to low numbers)

This one day training will consist of two segments:

9:00 AM to Noon - This classroom time covers the topics of:

  1. Learning the state & local firearm laws
  2. Where and when you can carry a concealed weapon
  3. Safe and proper ways of storing your firearm
  4. Transporting your firearm
  5. Familiarization with the different types of firearms
  6. Loading and unloading your firearm
  7. Being safe with your firearm

Noon to 1:00 PM - Lunch Served by Instructors.

1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (optional) - This live fire on the range time covers:

  1. Safe handling of your firearm around others
  2. Grip, stance and balance
  3. Proper sight picture and sight alignment
  4. Shooting various types, sizes, and calibers of handguns and rifles

Persons need not bring anything!

All equipment and supplies will be provided!

This class is free to both men and women!

Classes will be held at the Minot Rifle & Pistol Club's new indoor range facility
